Your child is desperate to get in the swimming pool and the lesson is about to start but, you are struggling with the swim cap and just keep trying to pull the cap over the head without any success! The swim cap hysteria! Sounds familiar??
Mastering the swim cap is the first step—mastering the water is the next! We have 6 private 1:1 slots remaining for our May 26-29 Intensive Course in Wimbledon.

Trying to just pull a latex or silicone swim cap over your child’s head won’t work but, we can show you a simple technique which will! This video will help you to make the whole experience of swim cap as pain-free and tear-free as possible.
Latex swim caps will go on with much less resistance if you know how to do it with a bit of ‘team work’ with your child.
Here’s a simple technique for putting a swim cap on for your child.
Stretchy silicone or latex caps, like the swim cap you see in the video above, are very comfortable and make swimming more enjoyable once positioned correctly on the head. But putting a swim cap on children, especially if they have long hair, can be tricky.
When a swim cap is on correctly, children feel comfortable. If a swim cap is not put on properly, it prevents children from focusing on swimming.
Wearing a swim cap at Blue Wave Swim School for all swimmers who are aged 3 years and above is compulsory.
A big misconception about swim caps is that they are used to keep hair dry when swimming.
Swim Caps are not designed to keep hair dry! No swim cap is guaranteed to keep your child’s hair 100% dry. To keep hair as dry as possible, some swimmers wear two caps (latex underneath, silicone on top).
A) Put the swim cap on before putting on goggles and before the hair gets wet.
B) If your child’s hair is long, tie it first with a non-elastic hair band before putting the cap on.
Blue Wave Swim School provides premium 1:1 and small group lessons at our Wimbledon College private facility. We do not offer lessons outside of the Southwest London area.
