For parents who value their time and their child’s progress, standard group lessons often represent a “Time Tax”—weeks of shivering at the side of a pool with zero technical improvement. At Blue Wave Swim School, our private 1:1 swimming lessons in Wimbledon are designed to break that cycle through high-impact, individual technical intervention.
In a 30-minute private session, your child receives 100% of the instructor’s focus. This isn’t just “supervision”; it is a tailored technical workshop designed to build water competency and stroke technique and water confidence at much faster pace of a typical group class. In a typical group lesson you may have 6 to 10 children in a class. So, in a 30-mins lesson, each child gets 3 to 6 mins attention of the swim instructor.
Our private lessons are available at Wimbledon College on Saturdays during the school term and as intensive weekday morning Crash Courses during the May Half-Term and Summer holidays.
Note: Due to high demand for our boutique 1:1 format, spaces are strictly limited.
Many children plateau in swimming because they lack the specific physical corrections needed to master buoyancy and propulsion. Our Wimbledon instructors are specialists in identifying these “sticking points.” Whether your child is a nervous beginner or an improver looking to master side-breathing, our 1:1 format provides the calm, focused environment required for a breakthrough.

Unlike crowded public pools or shallow hotel basins, our lessons take place in a 25-meter heated indoor pool. This allows us to teach the full range of swimming, from initial water confidence to advanced club-level stamina. Located just a short walk from Wimbledon Station, we offer free on-site parking for a completely faff-free Saturday morning.
“Private 1:1 instruction is the only way to guarantee 100% efficiency in every minute of pool time.”
Since 2010, we have been the choice for families who want to see their children swim safely and technically well. Secure your 1:1 spot for the May 2026 term today.
